Poperetta Ltd is a social enterprise established to provide jobs and training for people who would not normally be given the opportunity to develop the new skills that are needed in the new developing creative industries.

Poperetta Ltd was started by Philip Wootton(pictured) at Paddock Village Hall following a public meeting on 2nd September 1988.

He was co-opted on to the committee by Councillor Matheson and Mrs Dagge to help form a new committee to ensure the survival of Paddock Village Hall which was under threat of closure. As the cold winter nights set in, the remaining committee members however, did prevent closure with strong support from Councillor Gary Dimmock. Eventually social services took over the running of the Village Hall and worked together with the committee to revitalise it.
